It’s 2020, and the world is slowly and abruptly changing. We started out with threat of war, and then came a pandemic. During this time, the country was bailing out corporations and millions were losing their jobs in the millions. Folks have become fed up, and it was a volcano ready to burst. People are still holding grudges based on all sorts of matters. These matters still include arbitrary standards of race, ethnicity and nationalism. It’s now time to join in, and you can certainly be a part of the change for the better. Below I’m going to list some of the best ways to properly protest. These are protests today!
#blacklivesmatter
Now we have another crisis on hand with national protests and riots because of another case of police brutality. An unarmed black man, George Floyd, was murdered by cops, and African Americans and others are justly outraged. The guy was knelt upon for 9 minutes. He was long dead before the police offer took his knees off of him. The endless killing of black people in America has to stop, and this goes along with other protests and causes to help incorporate proper reform. Whatever it may me, change is coming, so let’s hope it’s great and sweeping!
Black, blue and red all over, but don’t make it a problem.
It’d be great to live in a world that doesn’t acknowledge a variation in superficial color of skin as a problem. Although color shouldn’t exist, it does, and to some folks, they can’t except a difference. The solution isn’t to mischaracterize the problem and label the solution as a non-problem. It’s not that all lives matter or not, it’s that the context of the problem is specific to those of darker melanin, black and brown.
#AllLivesMatter #BlueLivesMatter??? Really?
There are extremes, but even the extremes of acceptance can exist and go to far. You have to take a step back and have a more nuanced perspective. Most know that color doesn’t matter, but whatever color it is, that color or group of people are being segregated and belittled, and it’s something to change. (All you have to consider is context, because context counts.) Once this happens, we can live in a colorless world made colorful by the many different shades we all exist under.
Be prepared, and don’t back down, but don’t be violent. Let them do the dirty work. It takes struggle for real change.
If you’re going to protest, do it right, and make sure to know what you’re doing. It’s not necessarily virtue signaling if you show that you fight! The world is more connected under a singular cause, and it’s showing. Follow in the footsteps of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and even Malcolm X. Don’t allow another George Floyd, Tamir Rice or Trayvon Martin. Don’t allow the George Zimmermans of the world to win; end their rule. With the world so connected, things can still split us apart, but it doesn’t mean change in the positive can’t happen. Understand this cause and help fight for it in the streets. It doesn’t take anything but a will to make a difference. Beset the man for proper reform and change!

Share, Coordinate, and Spread the Message (Protests Today)
When you’ve decided that you want to go out and protest, be prepared. Know exactly what you might be getting into, even if it seems pretty straightforward. Things can always change and not seem as they were at the beginning. Considering this, try to coordinate with others via social media. You can spread the message, because the more followers, the better. You never know who may or may not be of help, so let people know. The best way to get the right people involved is by maintaining peace and marching a peaceful protest.
Record a video or capture footage with a live feed to share with others. This includes suspicious activity of people destroying things and sabotage of peaceful protests. Don’t let undercover cops blow the protest.
If you see something you’re interested in, join in and find out. If you want to lead, it takes some extra character, but know what you have to do to get folks together and meet up to protest. Do your research, and know who you’re interacting with. Once people are out, make sure to make steady updates online letting people know what’s going on, especially if it’s urgent. If you’re not looking to riot, know what bounds of reason to follow to do so reasonably. Bring the Peace!

Know How to Calm Things Down Peacefully (Protests Today)
Things can easily escalate during a protest, even if it’s a peaceful one. If some folks are looking to cause problems, know how to properly curb or avoid them. It helps to be a people person in times and situations like these, so be capable of considering how others feel. Feeling sympathy for your fellow protesters helps (even the police), so being considerate goes a long way. Give it a try — it’ll help! (It shouldn’t matter how bad it gets, you must remain [very] calm.) Calm is the factor at play — for the betterment — that’ll help everyone

Being empathetic can be a good way to get stragglers on your side in whatever way. Dealing with any police presence is also good, so having these stragglers not interfere helps. Helping both sides see fit as best as possible is nothing short of necessary. Even if it’s unfair, try not to antagonize with belligerence and abrasiveness to anyone. Riots aren’t what you want to unnecessarily happen for the sake of change.

Preparing Ahead of Time With Precautions Is One of the Best Ways to Properly Protest
You’ll want to have properly prepared, so bringing proper supplies helps. Bringing a sign if you want to make a statement is great, and it’s almost a necessity. Take it to the man, but do it knowing what kind of problems you may face. Often police will react with police brutality, albeit less so in response to extremists on either side.

Bring food, water, your phone (obviously), medical supplies of any kind, and a sign. You never know what you might be in for, but you can certainly know what may happen. It always helps to have the foresight to know. Now go out, but go for the right reasons. Anything helps, but not necessarily. Be wary of placements in your crowd looking to manipulate and stir up trouble.
Bringing Protective Gear and Supplies Is One of the Best Ways to Properly Protest
Like I mentioned above, preparing is necessary. You don’t have to, but it’s certainly recommended. You’ll also want to bring gear to protect against any brutality you might get caught up in from people supporting the wrong cause or the police, whatever side they may be on. Bring milk to help with tear gas and pepper spray, and bring shirts or protective masking to help prevent spread of disease and protect from rubber bullets and otherwise.
Narcs are said to be wearing white armbands, so know what to be looking out for.
Police brutality will only get worse from here on out, but you can make a difference. Anything can change, but you want to be the better side. Most people are peaceful, but be kind and learn. In the end, this will help, even if they bring in the national guard or SWAT. Don’t let this stir you up, let it drive you. Don’t put yourself in needless danger though, because it can turn out worse. It’s better safe than sorry, but it’s all on the you to take whatever fight you want.
Being Aware of Social Media Presence and Don’t Wreak Havoc Is One of the Best Ways to Properly Protest
Now and days, when people protest, you’re going to have stragglers running around causing problems. Looting and property damage, i.e., arson, littering, etc, are some examples. If you know this ahead of time, please, plan accordingly. If not, god forbid, but nevertheless, be cautious if you don’t know what to specifically expect.
Baking soda and water or baking soda are good solutions to help with pepper spray and/or tear gas.
It’s up to you, but if you want to, post live feed to Facebook or whatever site you want to spread the message. Also, be aware of social media and what’s legal as to not cause harm to the movement. I’m telling those prone to it, that it may not help, and if you don’t know, look into laws to avoid further antagonism. Whatever it is, it will help.

Don’t Go Out, and Just Do it From Home (Protests Today)
You don’t have to be on the front lines to help out. It’s not indecent to help coordinate from a distance, or even share an appropriate meme on social media. If you want to help out by writing something and sharing it, it helps too. Anything can help, so go out there and do a search to find out. Online protesting exists too, so join on board any online protest if you feel a need to. It’s okay to be a keyboard warrior as long as you’re sending a good, wholehearted message. There’s no need for needless travesty and destruction, especially for the wrong reasons.
Join in any online protest, including blackout Tuesday.
Be aware though that some folks will be picky in times of unrest like this. Don’t be surprised if some people won’t have it, especially if you’re not black or white in your thinking. People have grown to taking sides, so don’t be surprised if someone unfriends you for whatever reason. Beyond this, you can help support online groups or organizations in your area to help out with the cause.
(Protests Today)
As you can see, there are good and bad ways to protest, and it depends on the context as to what’s necessary. If you want to go out and ravage the world, it’s on you, but it’s not recommended regardless of the situation. If you want to go out and peacefully protest, make sure to have the right mindset and supplies going in. Following the law also helps.
#blacklivesmatter
Fight back with a cause, even if it seems unfair, and thus considered more so peaceful. Let tyranny be the enemy and show it, unless just cause deems it necessary to react otherwise. It’s always right to protest, it just a matter of the cause. You can do it from home or the front lines, but no matter what, it’s the message that counts. These measures apply to protests, but this protest brought the pain. Fight back with a vengeance, and bring it on. Also, don’t forget and remember this: Black Lives Matter!
