A lot of people believe a lot of simpleminded things (theories of “truth”), but what about those simple abstractions that often wrap people’s minds into a dysfunctional mess of glue and paper mâché. (Yes, people believe in ghosts and goblins.) Of course, there’s a dumb belief, but it’s also how a lot of smart (or stupid) people believe them. (It’s all about the who, what, when, where, why, and how.) And, at least for the most part, it’s part of the conditioning that every person has to deal with, associations included. In the end, we must acquiesce and understand the 10 abstract concepts that everyone thinks are real.
The 10 Abstract Concepts that Everyone Thinks are Real
1. Infinity
Although infinity is a commonly accepted concept (or number theory), how it’s put into theoretical use is not indicative of its existence. Other than it being something that we adhere to through mathematical principle, it’s not necessarily anything that applies to real life. Beyond that, we can break anything down into infinitesimals; however, it’s still a simple abstraction that we use for the sake of specialized mathematics, i.e., theoretical calculus, etcetera. Although, at least in the end, it’s just another simple abstraction that seems to allude us because of it symbolizing how we can break down integers, etcetera.

2. Wave Theories
If you’re entrenched in debt, then understanding your limits is often a profound realization that will keep you from exacerbating a personal financial situation, right? Of course, we can apply many similar abstractions to the world of physics and mathematics, but the idea of quantum physics and even waves to an already convoluted mess of often over-validated theorizations. And guess what, these wave-based theorizations (or creative school projects) are simply there to make sure that humans have something left to do in a world that simply isn’t all that interesting or personally intriguing, at least for the most part.

3. Time Travel
There’s no doubt that a lot of people wish to believe in something that makes our lives a lot more interesting. And if it means anything special, then we should also understand that time works almost like light — it’s a vector! It moves forward, and it only moves forward! Just be sure to understand that “time” is another one of these so-called abstractions that we simply conceptualize to describe a situation. In fact, it’s not something that you can bend or retract, but it is something that describes distance, space, & movement. What does this mean then? Well, it means that it’s a vague concept that describes DISTANCE!

4. Religion
Did you know that the concept of an afterlife often confuses and/or convinces the minds of far, far too many people. (It’s a very desirable concept/notion to the ego.) You see, the human mind wants a master, but it also wants a firm belief that if something is out of control that we have someone to blame or adhere to. This god obviously needs followers, and humans always want to rationalize the existence of something that adheres to their irrational and/or ignorant conditioning. We continue to debate a irrational cause, but why shouldn’t we when the situation continues to pop its ugly head up on the daily.

5. Art
People love to debate about art, but it’s typically a discussion/debate that undergraduate art/tech majors (or hipsters) tend to enjoy more than anyone else. Regardless of — this debasing conversation — the esoteric nature of art, it has also come a long way! It went from simple beauty standards to art appreciation and philosophical discussion. And guess what, at least for the most part, art is art, and there’s no other way to put it! You can even apply this general word to something specific or even more ubiquitous. Also, if you made something that involved any kind of creativity, then you made a work of art.

6. Intelligence
Although someone can be more knowledgeable or “smarter” than someone else, the idea of absolutely measuring intelligence is as abstract as it gets. Now, we should be capable of understanding that someone else is more “intelligent that someone else, especially if the difference is significantly so. However, something can be real in conjuncture with reality, as an abstraction, or through the material world. (Abstractions can help describe real, solid concepts, i.e., numbers and their representations.) Also, it’s a pretty easy subject to grasp, but it’s also something hard to properly gauge with words.

7. Astrology
One of the worst aspects of humanity is that it strives to find answers where there are none. Why? Well, it’s because humans require busywork! If they have nothing to look forward to, they will fall apart! What happens then? Well, they will make something up just so they can have something to do; it’s very important. In fact, it’s the entire “human condition” wrapped up into a nice, little disheveled bow. And guess what, gurus, it’s no different than astrology — the seeking of silly answers in the stars — and its tenets. Although, regardless of humanity’s desperation, we still show signs of our dwindling creativity.

8. The Universe
The average person tends to use a personal set of dead ends to describe the universe and “where it came from.” However, it’s not really hard to take a step back so that we can actually look at the clues. Yes, we may not be able to wrap ourselves around a “no beginning,” but we also tend to not accept it. If we understand that the small universe is the only “real” universe. It should also be understood that the burden of proof is more our reality’s responsibility. Unfortunately, far too many people want to believe in the big bang or a collection of multiverse theories to describe this so-called indescribable phenomena.

9. Words
If an answer isn’t readily apparent, then there may still be a suitable answer somewhere in the decaying debris. Although, we should also understand that our answers are often not the revelatory answers that are necessary or that we’re looking for. And, at least to put it bluntly, there are people who do not understand the point of words: they’re descriptors, symbols, and truthful ideas. To put it lightly, they’re more of a rudimentary abstraction, as they make sense as long as you understand the point. Additionally, words and language are flawed, but they’re also not flawed when they’re put against the truth.

10. Meaning of Life
The endless sinkhole of science has a tendency of making something out of nothing, but it also tends towards repeating the same experiments over and over again … . (We can discuss this all day, i.e., physics and philosophy.) “Why, for the sake of science?” Well, sure it all is “for the sake of discovery and adventure,” but it’s also about finding something else to do! If we didn’t have this needless function to begin with (needle in the haystack), then what would be the point, huh? We obviously exist to satisfy our endless gratifications, and the end result is that we end and die without consent after suffering.

Ending
Many scholars may find many of these answers obvious, but there’s also a lot of pretense involved in the validation of information. It’s also about how we all will apply this knowledge to the world without allowing our phantasmagorical side to get in the way. Furthermore, we all can ask what the point is; however, it’s much more simple than that when we’re living in the reality. (We enact or deep side within the confounds of the existence that describes everything for what it actually is.) Of course, it’s all about conjecture; we will inevitable talk about these pathetic subjects to some degree and for some silly reason.
