The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
As we all should know, religion is a destructive tendency towards creation and faith that involves a god or its personification. While it may help some people, the end result is false, self-fulfilling, and causes more harm than good. If we’re to look at things more rationally, then we can understand it to be a miscalculation of human wellbeing. We all need a place of refuge from the unanswerable problems, and religion serves as a nice encapsulation. Unfortunately, the blight of mystery and answers constantly allude us in favor of seeking an afterlife. The traditional human brain needs answers, but seeking too far ends up leading to a place of illusion. In spite of the this, some religions are worse than others, and their duplicity is seething. Furthermore, these are the 10 worst religions, but it’s also up to you to decide on what should be included on this list.
—
The worst thing about religion is its ability to keep people ludicrously stupid. Even the smartest of people fall for it, but it also means that they are dumb. The more that you believe in a religion, the dumber you will become. It also means that you are more likely to have always been a dumb person to begin with. When we allow it to take us over by arguing the “truth” with the other side, we have failed. Not only have we shamed ourselves as a species, but we also have failed ourselves into complete and utter misery. Although it may be true that misery loves company, it is also true that religion needs its followers. Otherwise, the little cult people have pertained themselves with would seem like the biggest lie perpetuated on the planet. Unfortunately, this happens to be the case.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
1. Christianity
Nearly 3 Billion Followers
Regardless of the denominations involved, Christianity is a blight on humanity and its ability to see rationally. Not only does it display this through history, but we can also see it’s excuses from Christians in the modern day. The execution of its compromise is the most telling, and how it serves us leaves much to be desired. In fact, there’s even room for failure when you consider that you do not have to go by the story. This is what makes Christianity and other religions so manipulative, as you can make it true no matter what. If all else fails, you can still make the creator something reasonable, right?
There’s much to say about the effects of this, but it certainly makes the popular organized religions more responsible. Even then, some people understand this, and others willfully follow in its footsteps. This then creates conflict amongst people who should already know better. Regardless, despite our inclinations, if it takes more explanation than this to describe Christianity and it’s malicious intents, then you may be cherry-picking the facts. Afterall, it has created more than enough problems for us in the present, and most of its issues are obvious.

2. Islam
Nearly 2 Billion Followers
If we want to look at the most destructive religions in the world, then we have to include Islam. This laborious religion covers most of the Middle East and has indoctrinated its host with a belief in virulent patronage and toxic patriarchy. Not only does it display how humans react to repression, but it also creates further repression through it’s irredeemable merits and needless slaughter. People even love to claim that not all Muslims are bad, but this is an overstatement. In fact, although Christianity was more of a blight thousands of years ago, we cannot argue with the modern results and ignorance.
When it comes to this lame religion, we have to understand it’s psychopathic and Quranic past. If this isn’t bad enough, then you should know that clothing or womanhood can kill you. To make it even worse, you cannot seek another religion in it’s countries of origin. You see, when it comes to violence in the modern day, there’s no competing with its results, mass murder, and fascist dictates. In fact, in an objective sense, we can say, at least in the present, that Islam is the worst religion around. Most followers take it too seriously or abuse the power of its meaning anyway, so at least they have some principle.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
3. Judaism
15 Million Followers
In spite of what you want to believe, Judaism is just as much a problem as any other religion. It may not be the largest or most destructive religion on this list, but it’s still an irrational belief system. We can talk all day about how we need to kiss its tookus because of the Holocaust, but why bother. Regardless of this, it follows many of the same tenets of Christianity and even mostly comes from the same book. The cultural vindication from it creates a sense of belonging and uniqueness, but it leads to more irrational theories. One of these whacky theories even mentions that the fictional character of Jesus was a Jew. How dare these Abrahamic and monotheistic claim this!
Also, when it comes to heritage, there is no denying the ethnic traits of this religion and culture. Then again, there’s every little foundation for this, as conversion does not make you a Jew either. In fact, the mandated rules are sophomoric, archaic, and needless, and it entirely comes from a sense of exclusive tradition. The more you look at them and their conflicts, the more that its heinousness makes sense though. Many people have converted to Judaism, but at the same time, they are not “true” Jews of ethnic blood. In fact, this is what makes the ethnic religion so diabolical and disgusting to begin with.

4. Scientology
Less Than 100 Thousand Followers
When it comes to religions that involve a cult of personality, scientology is probably near the top. It is a religious movement that is often frowned upon, but many believers continue to follow it’s creative rules and commandments. A lot of the followers of this “religion” buy into its meanderings, but it’s more of a simple philosophical standing that involves being planted on Earth from a mothership. It also breathes of illuminati associations, and claims of celebrity domination have surfaced across the world.
While the Bible can show signs of decency, scientology has little to show for it. In fact, there is absolutely nothing fruitful that has come from scientology whatsoever. It has a sanctimonious story that even the strongest of believers denies, and it creates a fashionable mystery. The rest of what makes up scientology is either unknown, benign, or completely at odds with everything else. Afterall, although it seems to have science in its name, there is nothing but a caricature involved in its description.
—
Scientology was first mentioned and invented by an author, L. Ron Hubbard, in the early 1950s. He went from promoting pseudoscience to aggregating a childish theory that created the Church of Scientology. Unfortunately, the more that we take a look at scientology, the more that we can understand how little meaning a religion can hold. Shame is often a great emotion that is relevant, and it should be when you believe in an alien confederation of ancients created by a modern man.
Although we can blame science, the workings of a madman barely make it the problem. Not all science is bad, but some of the basics and extensive arguments need some extreme overhauls. This is exactly what make scientology dangerous, but it is also why it’s not so bad, considering that it’s a joke. In fact, even though it is often not considered amongst religions, it can still be considered an honorary and unbelievable book club where most of the archetypes are true to some degree.

5. Buddhism
400 Million Followers
Although Buddhism describes a world of atheism, it still holds the merits of a vague and phantasmagorical religion. There is much to learn from it, but most of it is common sense that can actually be understood better elsewhere. Not only does it personify the existence of a god, but it also does so in a very destructive way. You see, while we sit here having to accept a fire’s death, we could be trying to make agnosticism a reasonable ideal. This is not the case though, and we end up indulging in the worst possible ways to satisfy ourselves personally.
Unfortunately, there are glowing reviews of its dumb results; however, there’s nothing amazing about it at all. Many pseudoscientists, religious nuts, and intellectuals even use its exercises of meditation to inflate their egos. In fact, many of them actually believe in something else entirely and mostly describe it as an emotional exercise, regardless of faith. This then means that they probably do not believe it while selling its merits through mindfulness practices. Regardless, at its roots, its nothing more than an incomplete version of a materialistic philosophy through cryptic personification.
—
The tenets of Buddhism involve mentions of suffering, and it gives rise to an understanding of the zero-sum game and Buddha. To a Buddhist, life is suffering, but that’s about it. The simplistic philosophy even takes it’s purposes to another level, but it’s really not that complicated. You see, no matter what we do, we cannot avoid the sensations of pain, and there is nothing that we can do about it. Even if we could find true, living peace, there is nothing to gain from it. This means that no matter what we do, we are stuck dealing with problems regardless of our number of quality attempts. If anything, we are ultimately screwed unless we find some sort of painless enlightenment called nirvana. In the end, Buddhism is dangerous because of it’s claims being wholly misguided and dangerous to action against tyranny and an understanding of potential progress.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
6. Hinduism
1.2 Billion Followers
Everything involved with religion is hearsay, and it can even have an effect on the statistics of belief. This means that we can cause a problem, and a religion is created or further responded to with ease. You see, in spite of our best intentions, we always find ways to sink ourselves into a quicksand of needless ambitions. There is an endless need for validation and morals, but the ethics are anything but what other religions would at least seem to allow. Religions like Hinduism are a part of this problem, and it can even keep people poor and completely destitute without hopes of something more. The rules and regulations are similar to Buddhism, but they are a little more extensive and involve polytheism. It’s no different than the Roman gods of the past, and it actually grew alongside them over 2500 years ago.
—
Believe it or not, Buddhism, the offshoot religion, came from Hinduism. Although it has its own set of quirky morals, it’s side effects are more extreme. Many religions have this relationship, and this is the part of the problem. Hinduism, like other religions, is an archaic view of reality that instills the possibilities of magic through a form of vindication. Nothing about it is true, but it does not stop people from being astonished by its promises of heavenly nirvana. The traditional notions that it creates and was formed by are also easily tracible, meaning that its purpose is verifiable.
We may need to take an objective look at this; however, it can seem useless from the start. Afterall, when a religion causes other destructive religions, it becomes a issue in the long run. The spiritualism involved here is anything but secular, and it ends up creating a need for more questions. Like other religions, the questions lead to more answers that need answering as well. Unfortunately, there is always a need for answers, and we also want to find problems. It’s just that some problems seem to be better than others, and there is no easy solution to help escape it.

7. Rastafarianism
Around 1 Million Followers
Religion is always a problem, even if the ideas are simply an irrational byproduct of the human mind. We may even seek absolution from certain sins to keep ourselves in the game for good. Thankfully, some religions are not quite as strict, but this can lead us down an even darker path. You see, our feelings towards religion are misguided and are only more proof of our mechanical necessities. The ignorance in people seeks a simple answer, and we end up going there to help reassure ourselves.
Like other religions, Rastafarianism is no better, and the history wreaks of copycat syndrome. It serves as a dullard’s wasteland that seeps into the unknown and gives people what they are seeking. In fact, the Rastafarians deserve a spot on this list, and most of the well-known religions will make it anyway. Afterall, the more of an audience you have, the more destructive the cause. Even if it represents the alleviation of slavery as a form of compensation, we can see how stupid and dangerous it can be eventually become.
—
Many religions are violent and have caused a lot of harm, and it’s a matter toxic resentment. This can lead to a lot of problems, but the dumb simplicity of Rastafarianism is what makes it so useless. Not only this, but it was another religion to take it’s hold in a poor country in the modern day in hopes of grand reunion. It helps cope with the foul resistances of the world around you and creates a sense of belonging However, when you are a Rastafarian, you are stemming yourself from slavery in 1930s Jamaica, man.
The conflicts originated from British rule and oppression, and it gave rise to notions of freedom and liberation. Unfortunately, the more that ignorance spreads, the worse off we all are in the end. Being a Rastafarian is no different, and it reinforces a modern age of faith. The problems that burden others and this list come in the form of modern day belief and the history involved, too. With this, it even offers new age Christians a chance to indulge in drugs to help reinforce these ethnocultural beliefs.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
8. Gnosticism
0 to Unknown Number of Modern Followers
Even though it sounds similar to a certain other philosophy, they couldn’t be further apart. Afterall, the purpose of religion is to control through fear. However it also gives people a false sense of hope in the face of uncertain and impending doom. With this comes the reinforcement of religion that causes someone to stay hooked into the stronghold of indoctrination. Since some of these religions are so closely tied, it makes sense that they have commonalities amongst themselves, too. This similarity is dualism, another fairytale notion that is stuck in the past. Afterall, it only makes sense that the beliefs created by them would naturally intertwine with each other.
Unfortunately, these results end up in conflict, but they are also the guiding force of any specific religion. There can be thoughts of transcendence or even thoughts of some kind of heavenly singularity. It has even been the cause of rudimentary war and has even been a part of the military complex for a long time. Also, there are very few large ethnic religions, but they all kind of started out that way despite of how they excitingly mix later on. To make this even worse, the confines of their existence create this narrative. This then ends up being an indulgence amongst a group of interested people.
—
Gnosticism is another religion or interreligious and philosophical belief system. It essentially allows people to pick and choose what they want to believe in. If this doesn’t sound gracious enough, then nothing will convince you. We can see it from many Christians who take part in a form of Gnosticism in their day to day lives, and it exacerbates the issues. As a matter of fact, the religion happens to be a combination of Jewish and Christian faiths. This outdated faith also has a tendency to display a sharp divide between the so-called spiritual and material worlds.
Since we all know about Christianity, understanding it requires less explanation to the uninitiated. Many people know this one too, like others on this list, but who needs to care about that. Furthermore, all humans have emotions, but their outlook on life can complicate things. Even if some people cry when their loved ones die, it does not mean that people do not believe. If anything, we can say that now believe more than ever or at least will swim in even more denial. If this isn’t enough, then the stupidity of any combination of religions will make its mark.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
9. Confucianism
6.1 Million Followers
Religion, like culture and politics, is largely based on your geographic location, especially in the past. However, people often had little choice in the matter, making the situation with religion even more abrasive. Even places like China, which are known to be somewhat secular, can even fall for similar dictates. There’s no doubting that they will try to avoid the more “traditional” approaches to religion; however, they still opt in for something considered greater than themselves. The end result can give you something reasonable, or it can give you something close enough, such as Confucianism and Rastafarianism.
The people and their geography are responsible for the religion, and the same happens to be true for the vice versa. Such good examples of this are religions like Judaism and even Hinduism. Even if someone was an atheist, their clinical evasions of truth are no more gracious, and the merits are lacking. Also, the bigger the religion, the worse that the religion is on it’s size alone. There are only so many of these religions though, and some of them are small and acute in their dreaded nature. If anything, they are also bad because of their enablement of religion and the desire of their necessity.
—
We can only go into so many religions here, but what is the fun in that. They’re all bad from the start, and it only gets worse from there. We already have Confucianism, which stemmed from the theological philosopher Confucius of ancient China. Although plenty of good came from Confucius and his systems of meritocracy, it was still a theology covered in holy sanctimony. There is fictitious and draconian rule mentioned around every corner, and there is no way to avoid it. Lastly, the origins matter and are somewhat responsible for how a religion grows, and the arguments are too often lacking in substance.
We’re all to blame to some degree for how religions can turn out, and there’s nothing to eliminate its abject meaninglessness. If we’re talking about Confucianism, then we have to look at how its secular nature was born from Taoism and Buddhism. Like Buddhism though, this Chinese philosophy is a half-measure that seeks more from less. They will always guide us away from facts, and even if they’re atheistic, they can be problematic anyway. This is always lousy from the start, and it only gets worse from there. Regardless, it’s still worth pointing out, and there is no ignoring the Holy Confucius Church.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
10. Atheism and Agnosticism
450 Million “Followers” or More and Growing
The fact that so many people consider atheism a religion is what makes this “religion” an item on this list. People love to differentiate these two realistic philosophies, but they’re not all that different. Although we can argue the differences between atheism and agnosticism all day long, neither is a religion. The differences are simple, and one simply gives another reason to believe in a god. This also happens to display a world without religion being too scary; however, the truth is still a solidified fact. Being in denial does not help, but most people still keep themselves enthralled with a creator or theological philosophy. Unfortunately, most of our atheists still come from China, and it mostly stems from doctrines related to Confucianism. In relation, this is why this article should make more sense, as true atheism is still a minor vacuum in our world of irrationalism.
—
Atheism and agnosticism are the byproduct of religion that don’t adhere to said religions by looking at the truth. However, there is still an issue with agnosticism leaving room for a creator, but it’s still a philosophy (or belief system, unfortunately). It’s also unfortunate that something like agnosticism has to claim that we cannot know. In this sense, it becomes more about belief and leaving room for a creator. However, an agnostic will claim that disbelief is form of denial. What this means is that there is a massive difference between atheism and agnosticism, and it comes down to logical boundaries.
At this point, we can then question if most agnostics are even agnostics or if agnosticism is a worthwhile philosophy. In regards to this question, we simply have to look at the facts. We shouldn’t even have to be here discussing this, but it happens to be a reality or our current predicament. These terms were meant to define the exclusion of religion, but many religious scholars choose to disagree. It’s also funny how a more theological beliefs can be considered more atheistic than agnostic, but it can make sense. Afterall, we shouldn’t require archaic texts to lead us towards the truth, be it in the past or present.
—
The fact that a god doesn’t exist does not stop others from preserving their beliefs in a similar fashion or undermining facts with a number of fictional belief systems. In fact, something like atheism is and should be a complete rejection of all religions and spiritualities. Unfortunately, plenty of people have taken advantage of atheism as a form of religion and tyranny. When you have this dissention, and the ideas are meant to be inclusive, the last thing to epitomize is psychological slavery. Although, can we blame them all just because of this? Well, we certainly can, and yes, it’s a major problem. The more that we do this, the more that we enable any belief system. If this is somehow not the case, then we are at least giving people reason to go elsewhere or take advantage of the simple truth.
The 10 Worst Religions of All Time
Ending
As we should all be able to see, most religions are not all that different from each other. In fact, they are all very similar when compared. Furthermore, people still want to believe that without religion, we would be hopeless and angry. They even want to tell a story that you can believe; desires of control and reinforcement are at the helm. When we push it, there’s also the fear that we couldn’t have it any other way. You see, if we wanted to, we would make this list go on forever. If I go on all day with this article, then I could include a plethora of other religions, too.
The list would probably include Druze, Sikhism, Greek and Norse mythology, and the likes of African diaspora and Native American spiritualities. When this isn’t enough, we could include, pagan faith systems, Shinto, Jainism, Baha’i, and Zoroastrianism. Unfortunately, this would be too redundant for the average reader, so it makes sense that we end it here; we can put the other useless religions on the sidelines. They’re all kind of stupid anyway, so it would only end up being a huge waste of time. It should also be noted that people take insults towards their religious beliefs personally. Well, if this is not some kind of twisted and unexpected catch!
—
Although not everything is covered here, not everything has to be. Most of this is common knowledge, and no one can tell me that anything significant was left out. Regardless of if someone calls their god Yahweh, God, or Allah, the answers are right in front of you. There’s also always a promise involved when someone believes in a religion. To many, it can even include virgins or an adulterous pleasure. When you add it all up, there are nearly 90 percent of people who still identify with a religion.
The 10 Worst Religions
There are numerous religions out there as well, and the other 10 percent is mostly occupied by other spiritual nonsense. When it comes down to it, just about every religion is a problem. No matter how much good they can spread, knowing the truth as a realist is the best answer you receive. It’s just too bad that we’re not ready for anything but deism and painful realizations. In the end, if you are considered a theology, then you shouldn’t have atheism in the named book report. Choose one!
