Where to next!?

The world is a depressing place, but it does not appear that way to “everyone.” Of course, there’s nothing wrong with trying to convince other people! (Although it sounds somewhat harsh, most people do not find reason to be horribly depressed; they get upset over typically trivial matters.) However, it’s never that simple, and, at times, we should attempt to understand other people’s emotions, rationalizations, and feelings more. (Not everyone’s emotions are equally valid, but it doesn’t hurt to understand grief, anxiety, and even excitement.) “What does this mean?” you ask. Well, it means that listening gives us reason to help, albeit often VERY poorly. Especially if someone is worried or upset, we should lend credence to their plight as much as possible. This, in turn makes people more understanding, especially to people airing on the side of negativity. Unfortunately, the world is full of all sorts of things, including suffering, pain, and sadness. And this is why ‘I’m’ discussing this: These are the top 5 reasons to be depressed, especially now!

We can be ourselves, so why not do more than that, too! It’s the worst and best thing about us, right!? Also, did I mention that people having kids is also depressing.

The Top 5 Reasons to Be Depressed

1. Other People

Although there’s nothing “inherently” wrong with other people, there’s something to say about how they can disadvantage us. Of course, to make this even worse, we’ve got ourselves to contend with! (It’s a battle of attrition, and we’re all obstructing someone else.) And all of it goes straight down hill from here! Unfortunately, once you realize that you’re a part of the problem, there’s little hope for you to weasel your way out of this ‘conundrum.’ “What is that deep paradoxical quandary!?” you inquire. Well, it’s simply that we’re obligated (and almost required) to be beholden to others. Now, this doesn’t mean that we’re not selfish or allowed to be prickish from time to time, but there’s always a limit, be it arbitrary or realistic! In the end, we’re going to be dealing with conflict within ourselves and/or from other individuals. At times, it may even appear as though we NEED other folks, but this is entirely a subjective farce! (The more there is to ‘love,’ the more there is to lament.) Although, it does make sense, considering our condition … .

2. The Natural Condition

The truth of the matter is that we’re all trapped in the same game, and there’s very little that we can do to compensate for it. Now, there’s no shortage of alleviation; however, our subjugation is often ill-treated and ignored. (We’re often passive-aggressive and ignorant of the folly that we often involve ourselves in.) Although, beyond this neglect, we’re often at odds with ourselves and other people simply because of our natural conditioning. (Our natural conditioning is this: It’s biological, chemical, and “physical” [physics] in nature.) It’s always an act, but it’s also with the placation of negative states of being alive.) Why ask, right! It always makes sense to consider our conditioning, and why not! We’re stuck inside of a plethora of rabbit holes, including death, addiction, and a lack of true control. (It pertains to the ideas of the zero-sum game, determinism, evolution, etcetera.) And, although it’s simply a negative utilitarian philosophy, it holds functional value in its truth and accuracy. Unfortunately, the vile, sickening nature of truth cares not!

3. Death

Unfortunately, we often have no control over our personal situations, and it’s because of our victimization through, by, and because of the universe’s determinism. (Our conditioning, unfortunately, also includes death.) We’re obviously a**holes; however, we’re also ‘blissfully’ unaware of our own decisions and why or how we personally “make” them. (We can obviously be physically depressed and fatigued with anxiety; however, this also gives us more reason to be depressed about our factual lack of control.) So, what does this mean for us all? Well, it means that we’re not in control of our own destiny, but it also means that we’re going to die. Of course, this doesn’t have much to do with determinism directly, but it’s certainly a relevant part of the process. And with this process is the pain and suffering that often comes with petrification. What!? Yes, death itself is not necessarily “bad,” except for the process that often leads to it. With this, we can easily forge a conclusion about life that’s not so great after all — it’s pain, relief, & death.

4. Our Difficult Stupidity

People tend to overvalue themselves and undervalue others — it’s the unfortunate name of the real game. We can understand this; however, we can also have “subjective,” personal desires that contradict this. (This is very common with religion … .) And, although it seems like a problem, most people do not display a single crisis of existentiality. But the question, “What are we doing, and why are we actually here?” should always cross someone’s mind. Although, even if it can make you reasonable joyous and/or proud, it’s also something that can make you considerably sad or upset. (There’s never a “satisfying answer.) Unfortunately, other people do not make it any easier, even though we’ve been paradoxically required to deal with others as well. And the fact of the matter is that the truth is bad but also something that we should always, for sure consider. Of course, we do this because we’re decent, and it works because of our willingness to see “it.” It’s just too bad that we’re wrapped up in a wicked game that keeps us from the … .

5. The Truth

To whom it may concern, we’ve always heard this, and it’s probably been repeated at least 100 times over at this point. But there’s always relevant room to believe that we are actually very alone in the (our) universe. (It’s the only universe, actually.) Unfortunately, it’s also not too much of a stretch to believe that we’re always driven by an answer and purpose that may not even be there or satisfying. So, what’s the point, we’ve … very little to do … . Not only does this make it MUCH worse, but it can also create a conflict. Now, we can sit around and “ignore” the truth, or we can do the right thing by facing it. (“The truth shall set you free,” right!?) After all, why not do this so that we can make things much better as well! (The truth is occasionally the better answer, at least for you personally.) Unfortunately, facing the truth will not always bring your daisies, but it will not always bring you this unjust travesty. (The truth is a trap, so why require us to face a negative truth!) However, the truth does represent a lot of what is on this list already.

Conclusion

There’s nothing wrong with writing a “shorter” list than what is the usual. After all, the subjugating debate surrounding the subjects of people, the world, and our universe’s cruelty have been dictated & decided upon for ages upon ages. And, at least for the most part, we’re still stuck with that same old false, feckless charade of existence and our reality. In fact, a wise crackhead once said, “If the truth, in fact, remains unperturbed, then why bother trying to begin with!” Furthermore, the more that you have to face the so-called music, the more that you are likely going to realize that we should not have to face it from the start. (Just be wary that others may not always agree with you.) But, in the end, we’re stuck with the rules! They obviously “work,” even though they often working quite poorly! Yes, it is good to gain some ‘perspective,’ albeit a decent one. However, it’s more than just about “appreciating” or blindingly hating everything around you. Although, it’s okay but not so great of us to see every problem for what it really is.

It also sucks that we people need people, and, without them, our egos are often bruised and hopeless. And the reasons to be disgusted or anxious never seem to end!
