Believe it or not, most people are the same in more ways than you would believe. And this, for the most part, is why a lot of people are not so fully “understanding” … . Although we are different in many questionable ways, these ways are only important because they are the only differences that we have. Of course, this isn’t always a problem; most people are willing to accept this to some degree. (There are egomaniacal narcissists out there, but this is a part of the statistics.) We’re also fairly social “as a species”; however, this is barely a factor worth including within this article. Thankfully, there are some worthy, topical ways to describe our similarities without using the typical ‘methods.’ All cliches aside, a lot of our similarities can be described as subjective — there is objective truth to it, though. To make this matter even more exciting, we can draw out characteristics that pertain to geography and specific subcultures in and around the world. In the end, these are the 5 remarkable ways that everyone is the same … mostly … .
The 5 Remarkable Ways That Everyone is the Same
1. They Contemplate the Same
If you’re questioning whether or not “your” thoughts are your own, then you should probably think again. Now, it’s not to say that your thoughts are not being thought in your head; there is no real telepathic projection. However, there is such a thing as a thought having been ‘thought’ before. And, although many thoughts can be original and creative, most of these thoughts have been thought before by someone. (It’s also true that we all work on a spectrum, i.e., our abilities and nuanced idiosyncrasies.) Of course, a lot of this is fairly obvious and logical, especially if you have done just a little bit of research. (It also comes down to the thoughts that you are having — some are certainly more “unique.”) Again, not EVERYONE is always exactly the same, but our thinking often devolves around and into bouts of selfishness and/or frivolous contemplation. Although, for what it’s worth, your thinking is your own, and it’s always going to have its special properties that others do not have, especially if you are intelligent and display “character.”

2. They Appear the Same
Even if people are just a little unique in their appearance, we should also realize that their differences are often exceedingly superficial. Of course, it doesn’t take away that a lot of people can appear “special” through means of makeup, strange genetic mutations, and lifestyle choices … . Although, it should also be stated that these differences are often more engineered rather than natural. (We have a personality, and we also have associations that are very loosely connected to our superficial physical traits.) What this also means is that we all are driven to look like what our personal beauty standards are. (Aesthetics play an important role for a lot of people in a plethora of different & ‘interesting’ ways.) The most interesting way that we can see this is through the fact that we are often similar in appearance to our family members. And anyone who isn’t the same often fits into a category that’s already fairly common. So, what should be understood is this: We are not so different in our “looks,” and we are all 99.8 percent the same as well …!?

3. They Behave the Same
When you go outside and ‘look around’ others and/or at people, you may notice that most of these folks are communicating rather “normally.” They may sit by themselves, or they might communicate about their day with another individual. Of course, you’ve got your “aberrate” behaviors; however, this becomes another statistic that is rather common amongst the general population. (It may even be somewhat rare or uncommon, but your sociopaths, narcissists, and eccentrics are relatively the same, too!) And this obviously comes down to the stringent limitations of our personalities. (Even the odd group is a collection of people and possibilities within the population.) So, even if you’re a punk rocker, you’re still a part of a significantly common underground subculture. Although it sounds rather harsh, your differences in personality and behavior are nothing more than sophomoric. However, it is also a difference, and this good quality should always be appreciated and respected. Just know that our similarities can also change!

4. They Desire the Same
Everyone is capable of “desire,” but this does not necessarily make us the same, right!? At the same time, our differences are magnified in the ways that they DO count. And, at least in this way, we can be as different as day and night, at least relatively speaking. Unfortunately, we all tend to have desires, and the foundation of our similarities fall on this. We have all sorts of desires (or urges), including our sexual drives, hunger, and excretory desires (e.g., our needs involving the digestive system). However, even if we’re lacking in these areas for some reason, it doesn’t mean that the function is not there by default. A good example is someone losing their arm; this creates a dysfunction is someone’s system. Yes, this obviously means that they likely cannot masturbate anymore; however, it was and still is a part of their body and muscle system. Anyway, the point is that we all have desires that are very, very similar in their function. And it does not even matter if you were born “different”; your natural hormones are very similar.

5. We Function the Same
I’m obviously not saying that we are all “one consciousness”; however, the truth is based on the facts. We can only fight it for so long before it becomes an actual problem, and it does not even make it a good thing. (And our differences are often fairly superficial!) And it is also healthy to expect that you have some similarities to other people. (We can obviously categorize our appearance as something superficial; it’s just the way that we look.) However, these differences are also very important (on a very superficial level) to many people. It also plays an important role in other aspects our our lives. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for our function, meaning our “desire to socialize” and our obvious bodily functions. (We’re very similar to other animals [including reptiles and bugs], especially mammals, as well.) Regardless, the function of our aliveness is crucial, and it’s the biggest (and only) difference between us and the inanimate world. “So, what does this mean?” you ask. Well, it certainly means that we are VERY important!

Conclusion
As you can obviously tell and in spite of my “ego” telling me otherwise, I can openly accept these things about myself as well. Of course, there is always a level of egocentrism involved when talking about subjects related to personal subjects like this. And our ego gratification is always on the line when doing it. (We are always allowed to have our narcissistic tendencies when others are not around; however, it doesn’t always bode well for your time with others.) Now, you can easily say that this perspective is often stilted; although, it is here to give you an understanding of the characteristics that we can all share. We can even see it in other specimens, too. (The differences are really nothing to write home about.) Regardless, only one person can be special, and that person is me! So, for your own sake, be sure to bid yourself some good luck! And Godspeed to the rest of you who are trying to unnaturally catch up! Just understand that humans are not special, but we are also capable of mildly adapting to different locations.
