Words can be “strange,” and there is nothing stopping a particular “definition” from having a different OR separate meaning when it comes from a different person’s mouth. Of course, we can simplify context without falling into wordplay or semantics; however, it’s much easier said than done. (A lot of people tend to fall into a spiral [or rabbit hole] when it comes to this kind of stuff.) There’s also the issue of language and other means of communication, but that is an entirely separate problem. Now, it is not to say that we can not learn or correct when we know that something is obviously misled or incorrect. However, the nuance of a lot of our understanding can be unspoken for a lot of the time; it is often highly ‘misguided.’ It’s also a matter of how we conceptualize the symbolism of a word into something else entirely. Yes, words are meant to be objective, and their foundation is often meant to describe a particular thing, be it a concept or real thing. For what it’s really worth, these are the 5 words that we can easily misunderstand …!
The 5 Words That We Can Easily Misunderstand
1. Fantasy
Fantasy is something of a fictional daydream; it’s essentially something imagined that is not real. Of course, you can be thinking of facts, but it’s a product of your imagination or something nonexistent … . The true nature of fantasy is, unfortunately, lost to time, but it’s always something worth reclamation.
—
The word “fantasy” is easily led and misguided into an almost unbelievable phrasal mess …! At first glance, the word is said to house certain, specific elements; it’s ultimately about understanding what is real and possible while also contextualizing it all ‘properly.’ However, it can be applied to any number of fictions or phantasmagoria (fantasies) — some “things” are simply impossible. It’s either a fantasy because of the rules not attributing themselves to reality, or it is a real thing because it’s no longer a fantasy. What this means is that it’s no longer unreal because it’s actually possible. Although, it can be real and have fantastical qualities based on different “definitions” of the word. (A lot of social media likes to abuse this by mixing it with aspects of science fiction [or super-science].) It all essentially turns into and evolves around semantics through contextual subtext. In the end, the word itself is fairly easily understood; although, it’s also a word that can allow your subconscious mind to dwell on the “subjective” semantics …!

2. Perfect
Perfect essentially means without fault. And the definition of perfection typically uses its own word to describe itself. Of course, this mistake is often the problem for most people confused about it. Remarkably, perfection still has a solid definition, but some people take it to mean “good enough” now.
—
The definition of perfection has always seemed to elude people; however, it’s a simple enough concept to grasp. Although it may be difficult to apply to the real world in practice, it doesn’t mean that it cannot have meaning beyond a farfetched abstraction. But it’s only a matter of time before someone attempts to overthink it once again. In fact, your brain likely goes through a filtering process that allows you to occasionally reevaluate concepts. And this is why you often come to rather exciting “realizations” to many of the same problems you’ve been thinking of and about. (All it takes is a twist, and your emotional persuasions can change an old thought into something new, viable, or interesting.) Thankfully, our brain can fill in the gaps enough to understand this and many other concepts in the exact same way. Of course, it’s a somewhat subjective definition, and the perceived outcomes can vary! Although, this is kind of a part of the appeal. And it might as well be something that your ‘objective’ brain can begin to understand!

3. “Love”
Love is having a strong affectionate attachment to someone or something. It’s also just a word that we use to describe our subjectively objective attachments towards others. Now, the confusion that this definition can obviously cause is almost paramount for the term. Although, most people overlook this.
—
‘Love,’ at least as a concept, is more in question based on our own personalized belief systems; although, it’s also something that can be confusing to a lot of people. (Folks can love, but what is their extent of affection, and how far can it actually go or be understood.) It’s also a difficult emotion to capture in a simple statement; there are plenty of ways to break this down. (People can display their affections in a lot of interesting ways.) A lot of it is personal, and it’s typical to associate it with attraction and attachment. And it can take into account a lot of this, especially if you are willing to give the meaning of this word that much power. How does this work, right!? Not everyone will run into this categorical error; however, it’s easily something that a lot of people struggle with. Philosophically speaking, it’s simply about looking past the words and understanding what attachment and affection really is. And this can vary based on the individual, at least to some degree. It’s also a matter of if it exists or what the word is trying to truly entail.

4. Art
“Art” is typically defined as something with aesthetic intention; however, people can associate art with nature or architecture that’s not often intended to be art. Of course, this is the point of the word — it’s there to be vague. However, language & concepts can become muddled over time, thus creating conflict.
—
When people discuss the definition of ‘art,’ the conversation typically takes a turn for the worst. Although, the worst part about it is that there’s always room to change the definition into something more vapid, abstract, and/or vague. When something is often considered “vague,” then it becomes a more interpretive word that gets lost in. Some of this is intentional; however, a lot of it is entirely based on a person’s personal boundaries and expectations … . After all, a lot of ‘special’ definitions include a range of different interpretations that can include something more than a particular thing. And it all becomes a dance of word play that ends up lost somewhere in the ravine. Thankfully, the smarter that you are, the more that you will have to think to understand things like a normal person … . So, what is art? Well, art is easily defined but misconstrued by others — it’s a specific and general term to describe something artistically created by an individual. People — the dolts — will find an issue with this though, so aesthetics are MOOT.

5. Reality
Reality is a set definition that actually exists no matter what we use to describe it. However, people often “disagree” about what it is and how we deal with it. Although this is seemingly difficult to describe it ‘perfectly,’ it still describes pretty much everything that occurs in a factual way. It’s the truth!
—
It is not to say that most people can not communicate generic and/or generalized ideas enough for their foundations to be understood. But a lot of this problem comes down to people choosing to overvalue and complicate meaning for their own purposes. “What does this mean?” you ask. Well, to whom this may concern, the meaning falls into the truth more than words. The truth is that there is an objective world outside of our subjective interpretations. It’s not just the actual word itself, but it is our world that we can subjectively understand. Then again, this almost coincides with some fantastical notions mentioned above. Everything works in reality (or happens “naturally”), albeit not always the impossible or least likely. Many people struggle with this concept, though it’s not something to overthink. Of course, people love their lists with these things, including their intentions. After all, a lot of words can perplex many people for slightly different reasons. Our lies and delusions are even a part of the factual, actual truth as well. Surely!

Conclusion
As you can obviously understand, there are plenty of ways to read into a lot of words. They can give you a different subtextual meaning that is based entirely on your experience and perception. A lot of these issues can be or become personal; therefore, it may also be a problem for some to understand the problem. Of course, it does take some thinking to guide yourself into a mess of unqualified overthinking. Is this article perfect? No, and yes! However, it’s perfectly good enough for now, and it’s an objective enough fact that coincides with a lot of other factual statement. Even facts are something that can weave and almost contradict, at least through the container of our more subjective thoughts. And it’s not to say that there are not problems with language. However, it’s also very easy to radically “destroy” language with too much thinking or similarly divisive methods of miscommunication, “ruin,” simplification, etcetera. In the end, we are the “arbiters” of our own self-destruction, too. And this is worst and best thing about it.
—
Unfortunately, it requires some additional thought to sort through this stuff. Yes, “love” exists, but it also depends on your exposure to it and your expectations of what it can mean. Our rules and arbitrary limitations also tend to create the purpose that drives us to be motivated enough to solve these tangential subjects of minutia. It’s also better to understand, but the minutia gives us understanding on things that are typically quite unnecessary. We can always redefine our words over time, and we always will. Although, it requires a lot of things: an objective brain, a subjective mind, and a “willingness” to learn.
—
Of course, we can all come to understand these definitions to some degree; however, it’s very easy to over-evaluate and want or think more of this in action. And it boils down to making objective statements with subjective interpretations; some words require it. (We tend to miscommunicate things, thus we become exceedingly relative and deductive to compensate.) Some of this stuff is almost necessary and these words mean differently depending on the person. Even then, we can succeed, even though it may be selfish or its definition imperfect This is obviously great, and fantastic, or it is our horrendous downfall.

Honorable Mentions: Fairness, Intelligence, and Science
Fairness can mean all sorts of things to people, but the concept is easy to grasp. Unfortunately, fairness is not something that happens all too easily; however, it’s something that we can strife to get closer to.
Intelligence is another finicky subject for people, but it’s not the word that’s the problem. In spite of language being a very flawed barrier, it’s still easy to tell if someone is more intelligent than another.
Science, oh, science! A lot of people will disagree about the facts, which is mentioned above. However, the word is easy to understand and conceptualized. What the truth is may be the problem here, though.
