The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking

"prescription" drugs
shallow focus photography of prescription bottle with capsules
Wow! Pills galore… .

I’m going to list the best drugs that you should avoid taking.

Drugs can be fun, and they can even offer a little bit of needed help from time to time, but they have a dark side. Most of the time, you end up sucked into a dark world of drug addiction and pain that is often difficult if not impossible to avoid or get out of. To some degree, you’ll suffer the consequences, be it a comedown, crash, addiction, or death, things can go south fast. I’m going to list the best drugs that you should avoid taking.

A drug is any psychoactive substance that can be consumed that will change a person’s state of mind. Yes, any and everything you consume is a drug to some degree. They’re not, however, as much a drug as the things on this list.

You may end up in rehab or dead before climbing out. This does not happen to everyone, but not everyone is taking drugs. Whoever does take them know, is taking a huge risk in getting caught up in the drug world in more than one way they don’t expect. This is somewhat similar to an article I wrote a few weeks back, but it’s slightly different.

People like to take drugs to experiment. Often those prone to experimentation are those struggling with some kind of crisis in their life. Even if it seems tempting, it’s best to avoid taking drugs or taking them responsibly. The problem is that people will always fall into drug use for the wrong reasons. Wrong reasons or not, drug use is dangerous and has the potential to ruin someone’s life for good.

I’ll leave it up to you to find out how, but it’s fairly obvious that it has quite a few differences. The strange thing is that what “best” means in all of these drugs may mean something slightly different. While it seems like I’m going through every drug, I kind of am, but all drugs should be avoided to some degree. Even if you think the drug is useful or harmless, does not mean that something can’t be said about it’s bad side. While it’s good to have good drug education, I shouldn’t have to tell you to consult with a doctor. You should, but you should try to avoid these drugs, but if you take them, take them responsibly. Do your research, and figure it out on your own, but read below to get an understanding as to why drugs are bad.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

1. Psychedelics

That looks like colored crack.

Psychedelics at their worst are drugs that you should avoid because of their negativity potential. They can ruin your day or your life. While I see the potential positives in their use, most people don’t use them that way for those reasons. The goods are outweighed by the cons mostly because of people’s inability to properly consider the consequences. If we’re talking about seeing some colors, that’s fine, but it’s not worth it. They’ve been said to help with depression, anxiety, and PTSD, but they can also cause these illnesses, especially in those prone to a predisposition. It can even cause paranoia and disorders such as schizophrenia. It’s just sad that most people use these drugs to get high and lose their life away. I wouldn’t consider this a benefit either.

Psychedelics have a novelty appeal that typically draws the young, impressionable, and troubled in to use them. Just like cannabis, psychedelics can offer a place for those who think there’s something else to discover; however, it reality, they’re doing little to discover anything. Just be careful going in, take some good advice, but avoid it if you can.

The largest draw for psychedelic is the drug-induced state of mind they offer, along with the “epiphanies” they can create. While this can typically help with some addictions people may have, understanding the downsides is very important. Having a good state of mind going in can help, but the thing with these drugs is that they’re unpredictable. The cliche you may often hear, especially if you’re not familiar, is the “colors, man” crap. This is what it seems like, and most people only gain this from their use. If you’re a little more intelligent or smart, you may gain more. While they’re not anywhere near the worst drugs on this list, the side-effects can cause psychological and long-term emotional damage. The mind and mentality of these drugs can draw on the worst fears of the user, creating mental turmoil that’s comparable to stimulant psychosis or worse.

Psychedelics cause hallucinations and strange states of suggestibility and thinking. Not only will you be more prone to anxiety, you’ll be more predisposed to any feeling. There have even been people who they’ll be stuck in the trip forever. This can end up causing PTSD, depression, or suicide, leaving an ambulance having to be called.

These drugs, while not physically addictive, can become psychologically addictive. Now, I wouldn’t consider psychedelics the worst on this list by any means, but their potential for negative side effects should be noted. Lifelong confusion is also another negative side effect of these drugs. They can also cause you to continue to see hallucinations long after you’re off of the drug. A list of these psychedelics will include DMT, Mushrooms, LSD, Mescaline, and even something like Ayahuasca (Oral DMT) and Salvia. Salvia and DMT in particular can cause great damage, but especially damage in the long-term. Ayahuasca is particularly known to cause bad “trips.” Yeah, it it’s ever worth the risk to take, go see a doctor for this treatment if you can. If you can’t, at least ask them about it relating to your issue to see if it’s alright.

2. Cannabis

Isn’t it 4/20/2021?

Cannabis is another drug you should avoid because of it’s potential abuse and negative side-effects. Cannabis goes by many names, including green, ganja, pot, weed, marijuana, and so on. It comes in many forms, including shatter, wax, oil, edibles, and hash, many of which are more potent than the leaf. The main psychoactive compounds in cannabis are THC and CBD. THC is the main ingredient, and it’s what makes you feel the main source of the high when smoking. If you smoke too much, you can end up sick or passing out. If you’re predisposed to certain mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, you’re more likely to get them if you smoke weed. It’s always best to avoid weed at an early age, as it can cause problems with brain development before the age of 21.

There’s a thing called the “munchies,” where someone gains an appetite after smoking weed. People simply become more suggestible to their own feelings of hunger when high. This is even though it does little to actually increase any actual physical hunger in someone taking it. Also, most people lack a clear description of the high it produces, but the drug has positives and negatives overall. Most people seem to fall on either side of this debate, being unwilling to think of it as both good and bad.

People are drawn to cannabis because of it’s high and ability to “relax” the person taking it. It’s often taken as an anxiolytic, but it does not always work out this way. The only real thing cannabis does is slow you down, but people find that it can make them more creative. It’s best to go in having a rational opinion of the drug. Many people think that it’s a harmless drug, but it can be highly psychologically addictive. Not only this, it is often seen as a gateway drug that introduces people to other more serious drugs. While some of these claims can be a little hyperbolic, they’re not necessarily untrue. There are healthier alternatives than taking weed, especially if you struggle with feelings of anxiety or problems with insomnia. If you want to avoid the psychoactive effects of cannabis, you can always give CBD oil a try.

3. Heroin

Do you want to feel numb?

Heroin is probably the most dangerous drug on this list, and that’s saying something. Diacetylmorphine is a potent, illegal, and synthetic opioid painkiller and recreational drug that is too often abused. It’s derived from morphine, but it’s strength is nearly double that of medical morphine, and it creates a powerful high. Those who take heroin will typically go into a drug-induced state of a severe lack of concern. This and the “nodding off” that’s induced from heroin make it even more dangerous to take. If you don’t care, you’ll just do anything, including taking more and more heroin. These states can cause it to be even more addictive and deadly, but that’s the story of heroin. A person can die, and they wouldn’t even know it.

Taking heroin is not worth it, as even one time injecting it can cause a person to completely lose themselves to the drug. People will start to not eat, lose weight, and become completely dependent on the drug. Neglecting your health becomes commonplace, and it quickly takes over. Heroin always becomes the drug of choice, if not, it’s typically mixed with a stimulant.

Everyone knows about the dangers of heroin, but they are indeed numerous. Not only is heroin lethal at certain doses, it’s often sold or mixed with other dangerous drugs like Fentanyl, making it even more deadly. This is why people shouldn’t be taking or purchasing heroin to begin with. It’s typically only sold on the black market illegally, so anyone can do anything with it. People will mix Fentanyl just to make it cheaper or more deadly for scheming reasons. Heroin and other opioids are related to more deaths than just about any other drug there is.

Heroin is horrible. Don’t do drugs, kids.

The propensity for people to become addicted to heroin is sky high, and it’s mostly because of how it’s typically administered. The endorphin rush allows for a high that lasts for several hours, and it’s power is driven from it’s synthetic derivation. The negative side-effects from heroin can include easy overdose, crashes, horrible withdrawals and severe addiction. Heroin can make you die fast and easy if you don’t know what you’re doing, but you should simply avoid it, period.

The scientific name for heroin is diacetylmorphine. This allows for administration to be stronger and faster than typical morphine. This explains the potency being over twice as strong and fast as other opioids. If you don’t need a painkiller, don’t take one.

Most of the time, heroin is administered through means other than oral administration. It’s typically administered through injection, snorting, or smoking. Be it black tar heroin or white powder heroin, it’s typically stronger than most other opiates, including morphine. The potential for abuse is through the roof because these routes of administration mean that it hits the system faster and stronger, especially through the bloodstream if done intravenously. Black tar heroin is typically smoked (unless you boil it down properly), and powdered heroin is typically injected or snorted. The best way to get addicted fast to this drug and never turning back is injecting it. If you were to take heroin orally, it would be reduced to morphine before crossing the blood-brain barrier. It’s not the “best” way to take it, as it’s not too orally active, at least compared to these other administration methods.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

4. MDMA

This is what you call party crack.

MDMA is a stimulant and psychoactive drug that induces intense euphoria and feelings of empathy. It typically induces a strong and ecstatic high that lasts for a few hours. MDMA is typically seen as a party drug and atypical psychedelic, but it’s a different drug. While it’s psychedelic adjacent, it’s not entirely a psychedelic in it’s own right. This rush involves a release of dopamine, large amounts of serotonin, and norepinephrine. It typically comes in two forms, molly and ecstasy, and can be taken in any number of ways. If you have to experiment with the drug, keep it responsible, but that can be a challenge. This is why I recommend avoiding it, even if I know it may not work. A fatal condition known as serotonin syndrome can occur, where there is too much serotonin released in the body at once.

Even if it’s a party drug, it does not mean that it’s not dangerous. Some of the most dangerous drugs are ones that are taken very lightly. This is why it’s important to get the right information that is not only from your peers asking you to take it.

Molly is the powdered form of the drug, and ecstasy is the pressed pill form of the drug. The terms are often used interchangeably, but it’s all the same drug — MDMA. The pressed pills are often dangerous because they can be mixed with any other drug, and either is bad because you’re never sure if you’re getting it. Testing is always the way to go, but that can be a hassle, and it’s simply best to avoid the drug all together. The most common way to administer the drug is orally, and it’s often the best and most safe way to do it. Since MDMA is an orally active drug, there’s probably no better way to get your high from the drug. Just be sure that you’re aware about it’s neurotoxic potential. It’s not highly addictive, but it can create a psychological dependence.

5-HTP is the supplement one should take after use of MDMA. It’ll help you rebuild at least most of your serotonin back up. It’s recommended that you don’t take it anywhere near the time you take the drug because it can cause serotonin syndrome.

The reason MDMA is dangerous and not worthy of doing is it’s effect on the brain. Like any other drug, the brain is greatly affected by use, but MDMA is no different, if not worse. This is why it’s important to point this out, because even the drugs you think won’t harm you, will harm you. If anyone knows about this drug, they’ll probably know that it can cause a nasty hangover. The serotonin in your brain has been on overcharge, and it can take days for the crash to fully wear off. MDMA can also cause long-term depression, anxiety, and it can even cause long-term hallucinations. If people thought the come-up anxiety was bad, the comedown is even worse. Your serotonin is depleted, and it can take weeks to return to normal.

5. Meth (The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

That looks like sugar, sugar. Are you telling me that table sugar is meth? Close enough!

Meth or methamphetamine is a central nervous system stimulant and psychoactive drug that induces increased energy, intense euphoria and motivation, and a loss of appetite. The feeling that meth can give someone greatly increases a person’s sense of well-being and can make them full of themselves. The difference between meth and regular amphetamines is the route of administration. Meth is typically smoked, snorted, or injected, but it’s also far more neurotoxic than typical amphetamines. It crosses the blood-brain barrier even faster than typical amphetamines and lasts longer. This is why it’s so addictive, because of the initial rush. Even if an amphetamine is taken in any of these ways, the effect it has is less potent, even at a higher dose.

It’s can be a cheap but overall expensive habit, especially if you can’t stop. This is what makes it so dangerous… you can just go out and get it whenever you want if you have the hookup. Having a connection or not, the insane amount of dopamine released during your high can cause permanent brain damage, causing you to become depressed and dependent on the drug just to feel “normal.” You can’t really die from taking meth on it’s own, but it can lead you to death via other means very fast.

Meth is one of the most dangerous drugs on this list because of how addictive it is. It’s possibly the most physically addictive stimulant you can take, and it can even give you something called stimulant psychosis. This psychosis only occurs if you’ve taken too large a dose and/or have been taking the drug for days on end. The reason for this is because of your brains dopamine being depleted. You may start to see hallucinations or begin to think people are out to get you. It’ll reduce your appetite as well. Not only will you ignore your hunger, you won’t even notice that you haven’t eaten for several days if you happened to use it for that long. It can ruin your teeth, screw up your brains ability to produce dopamine, and make you do things you’ll later regret.

6. Prescription Painkillers

Pills, pills, pills…! Oh, yeah, and constipation!

Prescription painkillers or opioid are just as bad as heroin in terms of addictive potential, but they’re not quite the same. It’s their mechanism of action that makes them less harmful, but they’re essentially the same drug. It’s not to say that you can’t or people have not tried boiling them down and injecting them like heroin, but they’re typically taken, unlike morphine, through the mouth — orally. Like any drug that isn’t injected, you won’t receive that immediate high or rush, making it less addicting. It does not stop some people from boiling the pills down or injecting them as powder, but it’s typically not recommended. The binders and whatnot in certain pills can cause an infection or blockage and collapse in the veins that leads to necrosis.

Just like heroin, these drugs are harmful and have the potential for significant abuse. If you want to avoid this, you should just avoid the drugs. There are alternative painkillers, such as cannabis, that are just as good for pain, if not better. A replacement may not “replace” the drug, especially if you’re simply looking to get a specific high. Even so, the drug is not worth it. The only time you should take these drugs is if you absolutely need to take them… against your will in a hospital.

Even medications such as cough syrups with acetaminophen, which is a painkiller, can cause serious side-effects. The thing about cough syrups, is that they almost always include this drug, and it can be liver toxic and lethal at minor doses. Most of the time, these aren’t sold behind the counter, and the doses given aren’t far off from what’s toxic to the body and liver. If you can, it’s best to avoid these drugs, too. Your body can heal without this, especially if it’s a minor cough. It’s not worth it, unless you absolutely need to take them, but any severe problem will barely be fixed with cough syrup. Like any opiod, a painkiller of any kind will release a large amount of endorphins from your opioid receptors. To note, any prescription or non-prescription drug is no where near as potent as heroin or fentanyl.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

7. Prescription Stimulants

Is this like finding a needle in a haystack? So, where’s my medication?

Amphetamines or prescription stimulants are typically used to help treat narcolepsy, ADD, and ADHD. They allow, like meth, a person to focus. They’re typically a one or a mixture of different amphetamine salts that create a unique affect on the user. Examples of prescription stimulants are Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, Dexedrine, and more. Like other stimulants, these amphetamines can give a sense of euphoria and energy just as good as meth. The only difference is that meth hits the system much stronger and faster than amphetamines. It takes someone at least twice as much Adderall to get the same high as meth.

Prescription stimulants are not all amphetamines, but many of them are. Most of the prescription amphetamine medications include two distinct kinds of amphetamines. One being the fast-acting and superior dextroamphetamine, and the slower being levoamphetamine. The levoamphetamine is typically seen in medications like Adderall. Levoamphetamine can help with focus in combination, but it has negative consequences on a person’s blood pressure and heart rate.

The more you take of these drugs, the more likely you’ll become addicted to them. They’re just as harmful as meth, but they’re not quit as addictive or neurotoxic. If you’re looking to find amphetamines made by a pharmaceutical company, it may cost a little more than a meth addiction. Not only this, the crash from these drugs can be considerably worse because of the additional levoamphetamine. This dextroamphetamine Beyond that, the medications are created to stop abuse potential by adding certain things to stop a person from getting high over and over. Be careful, because these drugs are everywhere, and you don’t want to get sucked in.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

8. Antidepressants (The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

See, the pills just happen to fall out of the bottle… .

Antidepressants are fairly simple — they’re drugs taken to help with depression. Since depressive symptoms can be painful and depressing, someone may find themselves needing to take these. If they’re prescribed by a doctor, that’s great, but they shouldn’t be taken otherwise. Let’s say that you’re looking to get high, they won’t provide you this no matter what. If you take too many SSRIs or antidepressants, you can overdose and die on them. Even if you’re depressed, it’s best to not just take something your friend gives you. At the very least, you should see a doctor first and consult with them. Regardless, it’s best to see a doctor and take what a doctor prescribes to you. Examples of antidepressants are Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Prozac, and Lexapro.

There are better ways to deal with depression than taking a medication for life. If you get on them, it’ll be hard to get off of them. Unless your depression is bad, taking these medications is not required. Even if so, I’d still find better ways to deal with it, considering your depression may not be so bad after all. The point is to get on them, and then to get off of them as soon as possible.

The problem with antidepressants is that you can find that they can have some nasty side-effects. People have been known to die from antidepressants, and the sad thing is that you may not even feel good. A high is non-existent, but the drugs aren’t there for that purpose anyway. If you decide to come off of them, you may realize that life is much worse, even if you tried to cope better. You know you’re on an antidepressant when you feel that you’re off of one. Don’t just take one because a doctor recommends it, because you do have control. Opt for therapy instead, and if you can’t find a better way to cope, take one as a last resort.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

9. Antipsychotics (The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

Does everything make sense now?

Antipsychotics are prescription medications taken to help treat symptoms of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression. Like antidepressants, they can be used to help any number of different disorders or conditions. They are mainly used to treat psychotic “positive” symptoms like paranoia, delusions, and hallucinations. You don’t have to only take prescriptions for it to be considered an antipsychotic. Certain drugs can act as antipsychotics, but they’re not considered an antipsychotic medications. This is because their specific method of action is not the same, even if they help with some of the symptoms. While it may be useful to those with severe disorders, it’s best to avoid them if you can. They’ve been known to even cause death is extreme circumstances. Examples of antipsychotics include Ability, Geodon, Risperdal, and Seroquel.

Do you really want to help the pharmaceutical companies? Yeah, they diagnose and prescribe, even when they don’t have to.

Antipsychotics are bad because of their potential for abuse and the side-effects they can leave to those who need them. Sometimes, people who didn’t need them will be prescribed and take them. This can cause a myriad of issues, even for those who do have an illness “requiring” them. Along with physical discomfort and side-effects (tick disorders, etc) that can last for the long-term, they can often exacerbate psychotic symptoms. They may even create new psychotic symptoms in those who didn’t need to take them, including panic attacks. Antipsychotics typically have a blunting affect on a person’s emotions, causing them to lose interest in life. This apathy can lead to suicide or long-term pain and depression. Not only this, they don’t always work, especially on the negative symptoms of schizophrenia.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

10. Benzodiazepines

That’s not my medication!

Benzodiazepines are prescription anxiolytic medications that help with anxiety or anxiety disorders, including GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) and panic disorder. Some people will take these medications without a prescription or recreationally to take a load off. It’s not recommended, but it’s certainly possible. Examples of benzos include Valium, Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin, and even Phenibut. There’s high potential for abuse, and the withdrawals are known to kill people. If you want something to help with anxiety, try CBD oil or a new coping mechanism.

Benzodiazepenes are one of the few drugs that can directly lead to death. Heroin can’t, but benzos can. The only two drugs that can lead to horrible comedowns and withdrawals on this level are these two.

Benzodiazepines are dangerous because of their ability to make someone lose their ability to deal with anxiety. If you’re on these drugs for long enough, you may be stuck on them for life. Just to feel normal, you’ll have to take them every day. The longer you’ve taken them, and the larger the dose, the harder it’ll be to come off. Even if you’re successful, it’ll be cut short by a withdrawal. Some of the withdrawal symptoms are excruciating, and people have been known to fall into comas. They can directly lead to death via seizures and stroke, and side-effects can lead to heart and panic attacks, etc. In terms of side-effects and withdrawal, benzodiazepenes tie with heroine in terms of the horror experienced.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

11. Crack/Cocaine

Can I take a dive in your flour?

Crack and cocaine are stimulants that increase energy, alertness, motivation, and a feeling of euphoria. Cocaine, like any stimulant, can become addictive. From the start, all it becomes is diminishing returns. Crack is the smokable form of cocaine, known as freebase cocaine. There are other forms of freebase, but crack is known to be the worst. Crack is considered the most addictive form of cocaine. Powdered cocaine is often snorted, injected, or even smoked with cigarettes. The rush from snorting it can make it far more addictive. You can overdose on cocaine, especially if you do too much too fast. The misconception is that an overdose leads to a hospital visit or death. This isn’t true, because all it means is that your body is taking on too much of the drug.

The LD50 (lethal dose for 50 percent of the population) for cocaine is fairly low (1 gram) compared to other stimulants. If done too fast, cocaine can be lethal, unlike things like Adderall, which are nearly impossible to overdose on. This is because you have to take a lot, and it’s impossible for your body to metabolize too much Adderall at once. Unless you snort amphetamines, there’s no way you’ll come close to dealing with death like cocaine can cause.

The rush you get from cocaine is different from that of amphetamines. They can often be indistinguishable to those not used to them, but there is a marked difference. Cocaine can steadily build more than something like Adderall, but it becomes more lethal the more you take. The high with meth and amphetamines is more of a reward based high that fluctuates with expectation. The high you get from cocaine is a steady high that increases far more based on dose. They both have their own “unique” qualities, but they both offer intense highs.

Any drug that is taken via insufflation (nose) is dangerous, especially if it’s a pill. Unlike MDMA that can be administered best through the mouth via pill or capsule, the same isn’t true for cocaine.

This leads me to the hard, hard negatives of the cocaine and crack consumption. Crack and cocaine are both highly addictive. This is because of the fast and intense route of administration. Like meth, crack and cocaine are not taken orally. They can be felt within a matter of seconds after administration. This leads to a higher potential for abuse. You can also deal with side-effects such as dehydration (like other stimulants), heart palpiations, and sudden death. This can be caused by heart attacks or even strokes. Cocaine is known as the ultimate party drug, but it’s not a party after you take it, because the crashes suck. They’re not as bad as Adderall crashes or comedowns, but they’re right behind them and MDMA crashes.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

12. Nicotine/Caffeine

So, where’s the straw?

Nicotine is a psychoactive stimulant that offers a short-burst of dopamine to the system via smoke. It’s typically smoked via cigarettes, and in a matter of a few minutes, the entire high wears off. After this, it’s all downhill from there. Tobacco is the most common way to smoke nicotine, and if anything, I should say that tobacco is the harmful substance here. Nicotine is the very highly addictive substance that keeps you coming back for more though. The most dangerous way to smoke is to smoke at all, and this includes vaping or e-cigarettes. To say that e-cigs or vapes are as harmful as cigarettes is an exaggeration though. Cigarettes and tarred tobacco are the serious contenders for harm here, and it’s because of lung cancer. This mixed with the other serious and harmful effects of smoking, including the addiction, are the problem here.

What, you enjoy that daily morning cigarette and a cup of coffee? Sure, you do. Did you know that a person who likes uppers is called a tweaker? Yeah, you may or may not be addicted.

Nicotine, next to alcohol and caffeine, is one of the most widely used drugs worldwide. Caffeine, however, is not quite as addictive. The most common way to consume caffeine is through coffee or pills. This cup of joe is not all it’s cut out to be though. Cannabis and caffeine are the most truly “harmless” drugs on this list, but they still have negative side-effects worth avoiding. There’s nothing in life that can justify taking a drug (except severe pain), but if you have to, you at least deserve to know. Yes, you need to know the side-effects of caffeine. Caffeine can cause you to have headaches, heart palpitations, anxiety, and insomnia. In severe cases, it can become highly addictive and cause premature death. Most of the time though, it’s just about getting up in the morning and becoming dependent on it.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

13. Alcohol (The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

I guess that it’ll be a long night.

Ah, alcohol, the black sheep of the family. Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant that causes all sorts of problems. A person who is addicted to alcohol is called an alcoholic, and yes, alcohol is highly addictive. Alcohol causes relaxation and amnesia as a normal part of it’s effect on people. Drinking alcohol is derived from ethanol, but there are other forms of alcohol as well. Also, to make it clear, alcohol is the second most widely used drug behind caffeine. Something around 50 percent of people use the drug around the world. And even though alcohol is barely considered a drug, it’s a hard drug that just happens to be legal. Go ask what they thought about it during prohibition.

Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs in the world. If you take this drug, you will have a hard time remembering what you did the night before. Thankfully, it takes a lot for you to finally reach the blackout phase of drinking. If your tolerance is low, its even easier to get carried away, especially if you just started drinking. You can’t stop yourself? It’s probably best to not even drink one drink. If you have this problem, you’re probably an alcoholic and should avoid ever having alcohol around.

To start, drinking can cause a horrendous hangover, and you’ll likely have a hard time not getting drunk. You’ll be depressed all the time. A cycle of depression leading to drinking goes back and forth. This goes for a lot of people, but even if it’s just a few, it’s still dangerous. Those who struggle with alcohol will end up in fights or screwing someone they didn’t want to. Since alcohol is so readily available and socially acceptable, it’s easy to get carried away. If you get drunk and drive, that’s the worst thing you can possibly do. You can get yourself or someone else killed, ruin property, or get a DUI. If you want diabetes, look to alcohol for the answers. In terms of overall negative side-effects, alcohol may win this one.

Alcohol is one of the two popular drugs that can cause death from withdrawal. There are numerous other ways alcohol can get you killed more indirectly, but it can also kill you itself. There is normal alcohol withdrawal, and then there are delirium tremens. This is what you call serious alcohol withdrawal, and it only occurs afters months and months of consecutive drinking. It typically involves rapid onset of confusion and symptoms of stroke or seizure can follow. Alcohol is a social lubricant, and it lowers inhibitions, but it’s not worth this mess.

To end, alcohol can cause serious depression, anxiety, and has horrible effects on your liver. Alcohol is a poison, and it’s liver toxicity is through the roof. If you’re looking to kill yourself fast, look no further than alcohol. Binge drinking and alcoholism can be serious and lifelong issues. You can get alcohol poisoning and even die from drowning in your own vomit. Alcohol is a dirty, dirty drug, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. To end, if you’re one of the unlucky ones who has to deal with delirium tremens, I’m sorry. Delirium tremens is serious alcohol withdrawal, and it can kill you. If you want to avoid all of this, try to put a cap on the drinking or simply avoid it all together. You’re not missing much by not partaking in this frivolous pastime.

(The Best Drugs That You Should Avoid Taking)

14. Any Mix of the Previous Drugs

It looks like you dragged me half way to hell.

Typically, mixing any two or more drugs together is dangerous, it’s just about how dangerous it is. Yes, it typically makes a high better, which is why people may do this, but it’s sometimes necessary in medical settings, too. This is why anything like this should be under a doctor’s supervision, but it’s still something that should not be done. A mixture of drugs is called a drug cocktail, and these drug cocktails typically balance and synergize any number of drugs taken along side. Sometimes drugs can come into conflict or exemplify a drug, i.e., taking caffeine with Adderall, but it’s never healthy. A mixture of a stimulant and a downer is known as speedballing. This is typically a mix of heroin and cocaine.

Taking one drug is bad, but taking two or more will create a crash that you will not want to deal with. If you experience more euphoria, you’ll experience even more of a comedown. It’ll be like death, and you won’t want to come back from it. The higher you become, the worse the comedown is. You can continue to multiply it, too.

Creating a drug cocktail, as this practice is typically called, is an affront to your health. Not only is it going to more than likely kill you, it’ll make things worse. You’ll also find yourself addicted to more than just one drug. The drug will not only give you a better high, you’ll find dependence to the “other” drug because it’s what you do now. Yeah, you’re not addicted, but you’ll will soon find yourself at least making it a habit. Even if you don’t take the drugs at the same time, it’s still a mistake. Taking a stimulant then alcohol afterwards to help you go to sleep is just as bad. One last example is benzodiazepines mixed with alcohol… you’ll black out and forget everything.
